Our First Trip to Bordeaux: A Journey Into the Heart of French Wine.
Our very first trip took place in the world-renowned wine capital of Bordeaux, shortly after we completed the seminars of Oinos o Agapitos in 2015. With the guidance and support of our esteemed teacher and oenologist, Dr. Dimitris Hatzinikolaou, we joined an unforgettable journey to Bordeaux in June 2015.
During this Bordeaux tour, we explored some of the most iconic vineyards and appellations in the region, including Graves, Sauternes, Pauillac, Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, and Saint-Émilion. One of the highlights was an exclusive visit to the prestigious Grand Cru Classé Château Margaux, where we had the chance to experience the heritage of world-class winemaking up close.
Perhaps the most memorable moment was meeting the legendary oenologist Dr. Denis Dubourdieu of Denis Dubourdieu Domaines and professor at the University of Bordeaux. A true pioneer in the wine industry, he revolutionized vinification techniques by introducing cold maceration, forever shaping modern winemaking practices.
Although it was our very first step into wine tourism, with little experience at the time, this Bordeaux trip made us fall deeply in love with the vineyards, the terroir, and the passionate people behind the wines. It marked the beginning of a lifelong journey dedicated to discovering the beauty and culture of wine.
Because… “wine is a life journey”.
