A Magical Journey to Alsace: Alice in the Wine Wonderland
My second wine trip was once again organized in collaboration with Oinos o Agapitos and our beloved teacher, Dr. Dimitris Hatzinikolaou. This time, however, the experience was elevated thanks to the invaluable involvement of Takis Tavaniotis, whose long-lasting friendship with the Blanck family in Kaysersberg opened unique doors for our group.
We had the honor of being welcomed by Mr. Philippe Blanck himself, who personally curated an extraordinary wine journey for us. He arranged exclusive visits to some of the most renowned wineries in Alsace, offering not only extensive wine tastings but also access to rare vintages that few have the chance to experience. His hospitality was truly exceptional—warm, generous, and unforgettable. Both he and the entire Tavaniotis family went above and beyond to showcase the rich winemaking traditions of Alsace to every wine enthusiast who joined the trip.
Beyond the glasses of Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris, the journey was enriched by the unmatched beauty of the Alsace wine region. Rolling vineyards, charming medieval villages, and breathtaking landscapes made it feel like stepping into a fantasy world. Every corner revealed a hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered by those who ventured off the beaten path.
If we had to capture the essence of this trip in just a few words, it would be: “Alice in the Wine Wonderland.”
This unforgettable wine tour in Alsace was not just about tasting wines—it was about living the story of the land, its people, and its timeless charm.
